In preparing to step into my new role as Executive Director, I’ve been doing as much reading as I can. I came across an article that really got me thinking. I don’t like the term “crisis pregnancy” but that’s what the article was geared towards. This article said there are three questions that these women have. The questions are:
- Does God love me?
- Does God love my baby?
- Will you help me?
So, as I thought about those three questions, I realized there is more to those simple questions and I read them like this:
- Does God love me, right now in my current condition and situation?
- Does God or will God love my baby, no matter what circumstance the baby was conceived under?
- Will YOU help me? Not will you show me where to go or what program is available to me, but will YOU help me, will you put the tools in my hand right now that will help me.
At the Pregnancy & Family Resource Center the answer to those questions is a resounding YES! We show our clients that God loves them by our actions. We show our clients that God loves them by His word, and we show them that God loves them by speaking truth into their lives.
Yes, we want all moms to know that God loves their children no matter how they came to be. “I chose you before I formed you in the womb;” Jeremiah 1:5 tells us.
Will we help the people that come through our doors? Yes! We want to partner with each and every client to give them the tools they need to be successful individuals and/or parents and to pursue a relationship with Jesus. We stand side by side and hand in hand with them on their journey. No matter where they are, newly pregnant and overwhelmed, scared and about to deliver with nothing for a newborn or just feeling lost in life.
How do we accomplish these lofty goals? We ask people like you to partner with us. Partner with us in prayer, partner with us with your monetary gifts and partner with us by volunteering your time and talents.
God’s word says that we have not because we ask not, so I am asking. I’m asking that you join us in prayer. Pray for the health and well-being of our staff and current volunteers, pray for wisdom as we seek the Lord’s plan for our center, pray that we would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I’m also asking that you prayerfully consider being a monthly financial partner. We rely solely on the financial support of our partners. Lastly, I’m asking that you prayerfully consider using the talents and gifts God gave you to be a volunteer at the Pregnancy & Family Resource Center. We have a variety of areas that we need volunteers to fill. Call or stop by for a tour, an application and to see what volunteer opportunities we currently have.
In Him,
Kathleen
